Braintrain raises £485k in seed funding led by Mercia to expand operations and complete clinical trials.
The seed round was led by Mercia Fund Management with backing from angel investors.
Braintrain manufactures personalised health devices and wearable technology focused on sleep aid solutions. The firm produces patented systems that measure physiological metrics to deliver tailored cognitive behaviour therapy.
Braintrain has secured £485k in seed funding led by Mercia Fund Management, with participation from angel investors including senior sleep specialists and healthcare entrepreneurs. The capital will support business expansion and the completion of a formal clinical trial at a global top-tier sleep research centre.
The company develops SleepCogni, a patented device that measures vital signs such as heart rate, skin temperature and blood oxygen levels to provide personalised cognitive behaviour therapy via light and sound. The technology aims to address widespread sleep issues and reduce reliance on sleeping tablets.
Following successful pilot testing at Sheffield Hallam University, the firm intends to scale its operations within the global sleep aid market. Mercia backed the round to support the company through its upcoming growth phases.
