BoxxDocks designs collapsible, smart logistics containers equipped with tracking technology to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. The firm provides innovative packaging solutions aimed at cutting down empty shipping space.

London startup BoxxDocks has raised £250k in pre-seed funding from the British Design Fund and Techstars to accelerate product development and launch its box-as-a-service offering. The company develops collapsible smart logistics containers designed to reduce empty shipping space and lower carbon emissions across supply chains. The fresh capital will help the firm scale its operations and drive innovation within the UK logistics sector.

The investment follows months of market research by the founders, who identified inefficiencies in standard heavy-duty packaging used across warehouses. The British Design Fund contributed £150k to the round, alongside backing from Techstars and support from University College London.

From the founder

"As a team, we were sceptical as to why others hadn’t already thought of such a simple solution to the boxes’ outdated design – something that had not changed in over two decades. Coupled with this, we found their production involves carbon-heavy manufacturing and the use of virgin PP plastics, large raw material supply chains, and synthetic dyes."

Their mission fits perfectly with our goal to support ambitious, purpose-led British startups, with potential to scale. We are delighted to be joining BoxxDocks on its journey."
