The Edinburgh based smart home security start up secured £1.7m from angel investors and a construction firm.
Edinburgh-based smart home security start-up offering DIY alarm systems and connected home solutions.
Boundary Technologies has secured £1.7m in a seed follow on fundraise from private individuals, unicorn founders, investment managers, and a major construction firm, bringing its total funding to £3.9m. The company will direct the capital towards completing product testing and supporting post launch operations ahead of its official product rollout in August.
The final £90k portion of the round closed in June, incorporating grant and loan components alongside private capital. The business operates a security as a service model featuring sophisticated sensors and smartphone integration designed to protect user privacy without traditional CCTV.
The founders previously established the payments venture IPOS, which was sold to iZettle and subsequently acquired by PayPal. Leadership is now applying that entrepreneurial experience to modernize the domestic alarm sector.
From the founder
"It became very clear from my discussions with investors over recent months that they like the space Boundary is operating in. We have worked hard to get to grips with the stringent regulatory framework that exists around the police response intruder alarm market and this is clearly a key strength of the Boundary model."
