Cornwall-based Boost Innovations designs and manufactures breathable, lightweight breast prostheses and related accessories.
Boost Innovations has secured £105k in funding from British Design Fund to support its ongoing development and growth plans. Founded in Cornwall, the company has redesigned the traditional breast prosthesis to offer breathable, lightweight, and decorative alternatives for cancer survivors.
The capital will help the team scale its operations following a positive market response since its initial product launch. Alongside its core range, the firm is working on a digital fitting service with Innovate UK and aims to expand its reach internationally.

"Following surgery for breast cancer, my mum was given a breast prosthesis to wear. It was hot, it made her sweaty and was uncomfortable against her scar. It was also heavy and pulled her clothing down when she moved. So in the end she refused to wear it. But there were times when she felt it would be nice to have some shape under her clothes and we really struggled to find any alternatives."
