Bewica provides a cyber-security platform designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises manage digital risks. The system was developed in partnership with financial institutions to address growing cyber threats.

Cyber-security platform Bewica has secured seed funding from Angel Academe following a completely virtual investment process conducted during the pandemic. The deal marks a milestone for the early-stage enterprise, which pitches its security tools directly to smaller businesses facing heightened online vulnerabilities.

Angel Academe co-deal lead Jodie O'Keeffe highlighted the company's operational readiness and strong product-market fit as key drivers for the investment. The funding comes as remote work increases digital exposure for small firms across various sectors.

Investor perspective

"For such an early stage business, Eva and the Bewica team were extremely well-organised and ready for investment. With the drastic increase in virtual working and business conducted online, cyber fitness is a major and growing concern for SMEs, so the timing felt right. Also, Bewica was developed in partnership with customers such as banks and insurance providers as a direct response to the growing threat of cyber crime for their own clients, so the product-market fit was another strong reason to invest. We’re excited to see what the future holds for Bewica and happy to be counted among their early supporters."
