Bevvy operates a digital platform for whisky enthusiasts to discover and rate spirits. The application connects collectors and drinkers across multiple countries.

Whisky discovery platform Bevvy has secured £1.2m in seed funding to expand its market share and pursue international growth in the United States. The investment was backed by Scottish angel investors, existing shareholders, and a family office based in Denver.

Founded in 2021, the Islay based company provides a mobile application that uses image recognition to identify whisky bottles, provide tasting notes, and track live market valuations. The platform currently serves an active user base and integrates data from bars, auctioneers, and distilleries.

The fresh capital will support the firm as it scales its operations and establishes a live presence in the American market. Executives noted that the funding arrives during a difficult fundraising climate, reflecting strong consumer demand for digital tools within the whisky sector.

From the founder

"Having already established the leading position in the digital whisky space; this new capital allows us to cement our market share and grow our consumer audience into new territories. We’re hugely excited to be heading Stateside in 2024!"
