Beem operates an augmented reality streaming and communications application that allows users to capture and share digital self-recordings. The platform enables interactive telepresence and live broadcasting across mobile devices.
Beem has secured £2.9m in seed funding from a group of backers including 5 Lion Ventures, Ascension Ventures, Grouport Ventures, and Inertia Ventures, alongside individual investor Lior Messika. The company plans to use the capital to grow its headcount and advance its technology for two-way live augmented reality communication ahead of upcoming hardware releases.
The London-based business provides an augmented reality platform that enables users to scan and share digital recordings of themselves via mobile browsers using WebAR. The fresh capital supports the commercial rollout of the consumer application following pilot projects with major brands such as Vogue and Warner Music.
