AnthroTek secures £950k seed investment using Genie AI to complete legal documents
The synthetic anatomy startup bypassed traditional law firms by using Genie AI to complete its seed round documentation.
AnthroTek creates advanced silicone composite materials that replicate human tissue for medical simulation, robotics, and entertainment. The Cambridge-based firm combines artificial intelligence, three-dimensional technology, and materials science to deliver anatomical solutions.
AnthroTek has secured £950k in seed funding by utilising automated legal software instead of traditional law firms. The capital was raised through Genie AI, allowing the synthetic anatomy startup to bypass conventional legal costs and accelerate completion times.
The transaction forms part of a wider £1.2m raised to date at a £10.5m pre-money valuation, with further tranches anticipated. By avoiding traditional legal fees, the company reduced turnaround times and preserved capital for operational use.
The funding allows the business to direct more resources towards product development and growth within the synthetic anatomy sector.
From the founder
"We completed a complex set of documents in a fraction of the usual time, and with minimal to zero external legal spend with Genie AI. Beyond powering our funding round, Genie also handled our Material Transfer Agreement, IP assignments and NDAs, allowing us to stay focused on scaling and innovating in synthetic anatomy. I know that many founders are frustrated by the current legal fee system. My background as a graduate in law helped give me the confidence to do things differently. The market will show no loyalty to traditional legal services if AI systems keep generating more value for the dollar spent. Why should it?"

Investor perspective
"Wider access to legal support is essential to the future of UK entrepreneurship. Solutions such as those being developed by Genie AI, which use autonomous legal agents, illustrate how technology can provide a practical alternative to traditional legal services in fundraising. Such innovations point to the future of legal provision for founders scalable, cost-efficient, and capable of reducing the barriers of time and cost that too often constrain innovation and growth across the UK economy."
