Allica is a digital bank providing dedicated relationship managers, rewards accounts, and technology specifically tailored for established small and medium-sized businesses.
London-based digital bank Allica has secured $155m in a Series D funding round, valuing the business at close to $1.2bn. The financing was led jointly by Ventura Capital, GLG, and Sona AM, with ongoing participation from existing backers TCV and Blue Owl. The majority of the capital comprises common equity, supplemented by additional Tier 1 capital.
Established in 2020, the bank focuses on businesses with between 5 and 250 employees that often find themselves overlooked by traditional high street lenders. The fresh capital will be deployed to expand lending activities, deepen technological capabilities, and initiate international expansion.
Allica has achieved rapid growth since inception, reaching profitability within three years and building a balance sheet comprising nearly £4bn in loans and over £5bn in deposits. The institution currently serves more than 30,000 businesses across the United Kingdom.
