Agon builds specialised artificial intelligence training infrastructure for the defence sector, addressing challenges related to classified and fragmented data. The company operates from offices in London and Berlin.

London-based defence technology startup Agon has raised $30m in combined pre-seed and seed funding to develop its specialised artificial intelligence training infrastructure. The capital comprises a $7m pre-seed round and a $23m seed round, backed by investors including Lakestar, Lux Capital, Northzone, and XYZ.

Formed by alumni from Anduril, Applied Intuition, and Cambridge Aerospace, the company aims to provide secure environments where nations can train defence systems on confidential data without relying on foreign platforms. The business has spent time in stealth recruiting engineering talent across Germany and the UK.

The investment arrives as European venture capital increasingly flows into defence and dual-use technology, supported by dedicated vehicles such as Lakestar's Resilience I fund. Agon intends to position its platform specifically for military applications rather than relying on general-purpose commercial alternatives.
