Agemo develops an AI system that translates high-level descriptions into production-ready software without requiring technical expertise. The company was founded by alumni from Microsoft Research and TikTok.

Agemo has emerged from stealth with a £3.2m seed round co-led by Fly Ventures and firstminute capital. The capital will support the ongoing development of its neurosymbolic AI platform, which allows non-technical users to generate complex software systems through natural language descriptions. The financing also drew participation from high-profile angel investors including tech executives and researchers.

The London-based startup, established by veterans from Microsoft Research and TikTok, has already gained early traction among data scientists and consultants. Its private beta product, CodeWords, focuses on end-to-end software reasoning rather than simple code snippets, handling system design, testing, and deployment.

From the founder

"Current AI systems are great at generating code to complement a codebase, but they can’t reason about software as a complete system. Reasoning requires understanding and modelling the environment to ensure language models work reliably. We’re building something fundamentally different – an AI that understands not just how to write code, but how to turn the description of a user’s intent into reliable, production-ready solutions. Beyond the deep tech element to building such a system, we’re also reimagining how the right product experience should look like. In the private beta of our product CodeWords, we noticed how the users’ main role was shifting to more of a project manager or product owner."

Investor perspective

"The theme of Large Language Models and Generative AI automating code generation and supercharging developer productivity has proven successful as we’ve seen with the mass adoption of GitHub Copilot. However, we are yet to see products in the market fully automating software development removing the need for human driven technical input during the build, testing and ongoing monitoring and maintenance phase. This is what got us so excited by joining Aymeric and Osman on the Agemo journey. In the future, we believe Agemo’s infrastructure will enable a $1bn+ business to be built by one or two individuals without a team of engineers."
