Aegiq secures a seven-figure seed round led by High-Tech Gründerfonds to advance quantum networking.
The University of Sheffield spin-out raised a seven-figure sum from a syndicate to develop quantum-secure networking.
Aegiq is a quantum photonics spin-out developing next-generation networking and security technology. The firm applies proprietary deterministic single-photon sources to advance quantum communication and computing.
Aegiq has raised a seven-figure seed investment led by High-Tech Gründerfonds, with participation from Deepbridge Capital and business angel investors. The fresh capital, combined with existing support from Innovate UK, lifts the company total funding past the £3.5m mark. The Sheffield-based enterprise will channel the resources into research and development, building upon its breakthrough quantum photonics platform.
Spun out from the University of Sheffield, the company specialises in deterministic single-photon sources designed to underpin future telecommunications and large-scale quantum computing applications. The latest syndicate backing follows a series of public grant awards and industry recognition, positioning the firm to service growing market demand for quantum security solutions.
