1nhaler develops a single-dose dry powder inhaler made predominantly from cardboard. The credit card sized device uses a patented membrane system to deliver medications sustainably.
Edinburgh-based drug delivery device developer 1nhaler has secured £2m in a funding round led by Archangels. Additional backing came from Dr Yusuf Hamied, British Business Investments, and existing seed investors. The capital will enable the firm to collaborate with international partners and bring new inhalation products to patients efficiently.
Traditional inhalers often rely on bulky plastics and carry high manufacturing costs. In response, 1nhaler has created a credit card sized, cardboard-based delivery platform featuring a customisable breathable membrane. The company is led by founders Don Smith and Lisa McMyn, alongside a team with extensive industry expertise.
