Amadeus Capital Partners led the Seed round, with backing from Ahren Innovation Capital, IQ Capital, Cambridge Enterprise, Martlet Capital, and Seraphim Capital, to fund new labs and recruitment.
"Our aim is to enable the potential of quantum mechanics using quantum photonics hardware. This funding will allow us to do just that – a world-class multidisciplinary team and our new laboratories will give Nu Quantum the ability to deliver meaningful demonstrations of our technology into the hands of customers and partners for the first time."
The funding round was led by nChain and Cambridge Innovation Capital.
"Businesses have realised that advanced analytics and rapid innovation is the key to building competitive advantage in a data-driven world, so where billion row queries that took hours were once acceptable, the market now demands trillions of rows and speed-of-thought results. Aside from performance and scale, database technology needs to be built with the future of the connected world in mind – providing flexibility and cost predictability, even as the demands for big data continues to grow."
The seed round was backed by investors including 365.fintech, Seedrs, and FunderBeam to support product development and team expansion.
"The investment brands we know today fall under two extremes: self-directed DIY investing, where it may be fun and sticky but, as many have pointed out, the risk of losing your money is extremely high; on the other hand, done-for-you portfolios which are managed for you or simply indexed but do not provide any flexibility, meaning you don’t get a sense of involvement, or the ability to avoid general market losses during unprecedented events like COVID-19. Investment is better when people work together to avoid bias, which is why we are building a new model for investors combining AI and Crowd Wisdom to create Wisdom in Crowds™. Our mission is to protect people from losing their money while empowering them with the tools to enjoy making more thoughtful investment decisions"
Mobeus Equity Partners has provided £3m in Series B funding to accelerate product innovation at Preservica.
"Mobeus supported the spin out of the original Preservica technology platform from its successfully exited portfolio company Tessella. Since 2016,we have partnered with Preservica to drive its international expansion and further technological development by providing an overall commitment of $12.8m (£10.0m). We continue to be impressed by the team’s progress against its core operating KPIs and believe the long term market drivers around privacy and governance make this a very exciting opportunity."
