The Bristol-based company secured backing from a syndicate of investors to scale its graphene-enhanced battery production processes.
"It’s been a pleasure to get to know Alex, Sam, and the Anaphite team. The advancement of lithium-ion battery technology is an essential part of the green energy transition and Anaphite’s technology has the potential to accelerate the already rapidly growing EV market."
The Oxfordshire-based battery materials company has secured equity funding from Ingevity Corporation.
"Ingevity’s fundamental sustainability profile also aligns with our focus on supporting the transition to carbon neutral technology, protecting our environment and improving the quality of life."
The grant funding from the Advanced Propulsion Centre will support the development of the UK's first major battery cell manufacturing facility.
"This is great news for our plans to construct the UK's premier battery cell Gigaplant in Northumberland. While the overwhelming majority of investment for the project will come from private sources, the ATF's grant funding is very important in proving that the UK Government is confident that we will deliver on our plans, and this will help to generate further private investment. It's a clear indicator of the Government's policy towards electrification of society in the Race to Zero"
The Series B round was co-led by H.C. Starck Tungsten Powders and IQ Capital, valuing the business at £300m.
"We are excited to move our technologies from development to deployment in the market. We founded Nyobolt following the discovery of new anode technologies containing tungsten with remarkable fast charging capability to bring these properties to the market in applications touching all aspects of daily life. The funding from H.C. Starck will help Nyobolt to scale up our operations in the UK and United States and bring a more sustainable solution into the energy storage industry. Nyobolt technology will not only enable net zero both in the electrification of transport, but also the storing of clean and renewable energy on and off the grid. With the investment from H.C. Starck, Nyobolt’s ultra-fast charging, high power batteries will help lead the way towards achieving the clean energy goals set by governments around the world."
