The ethical skincare maker will use the loan from the Development Bank of Wales to scale up its manufacturing capabilities.
"Firstly I createdtwo products to help with my son’s appalling sensitive skin. I created a cold processed soap, and an oil called Soothe. These have won three national awards between them. I have since gone on to create over 30 products, each one designed to serve a purpose. We have grown from my kitchen table, selling directly to the public at farmers markets to supplying organisations like CADW and The Royal Horticultural Society. We have around 150 independent stockists."
Maven Capital Partners provided the loan through the Midlands Engine Investment Fund.
"Our business is centred around delivering products and solutions that provide significant value for our customers in order to make a real difference in people’s lives. This loan will support us with our product development plans and will accelerate our growth plans. We look forward to working with the MEIF team to achieve this."
The European Investment Bank provided the debt financing to support food waste reduction technology under the Juncker Plan.
"Winnow’s objective to help professional kitchens reduce their amounts of food waste is both good for our natural resources, and it makes economic sense. By helping businesses monitor and analyse what they are throwing away each day, using innovative technology, Winnow is empowering them to change their actions. I am proud that this project is being supported by the EU bank and the Juncker Plan."
