Zapped is an online dermatology platform providing remote acne consultations, diagnostic tests, and direct-to-door treatments. The service connects patients with UK-trained consultant dermatologists without the need for a GP referral.
Zapped has secured £220k in pre-seed funding from Jenson Funding Partners. The capital will be deployed to expand the healthtech startup's technology platform, increase capabilities, and support its expansion into additional skin conditions.
Founded in 2020, the London-based company offers remote video and text consultations with consultant dermatologists, bypassing traditional NHS waitlists. Treatments range from topical medications to oral antibiotics and isotretinoin.
The latest backing follows a period of growth that saw the company complete nearly 2,000 consultations and double its turnover within six months of launch. Jenson Funding Partners backed the round to support the firm's product development and market reach.

"Without the ability to quickly and easily see a dermatologist, patients often go for months or even years without receiving proper treatment for acne, which can have a huge impact on emotional and mental health as well as the risk of causing permanent scarring. Typically, their treatment journey begins with online research, with resources varying in reliability, before trialling over-the-counter skin care products, which are not sufficient in a lot of cases."
