ArcTern Ventures joined other backers in supporting the Series C round to enhance product development.
Winnow provides computer vision technology designed to help commercial kitchens track and cut food waste.
Winnow has raised £8m in a Series C financing round featuring participation from ArcTern Ventures, Bridge Nine, Mustard Seed, Circularity Capital, Ingka Investments, and Novax. The business applies computer vision and artificial intelligence to commercial kitchens, allowing chefs to measure discard rates and halve food waste. Proceeds from the transaction will fund product development and expand the company artificial intelligence capabilities.
The raise follows a large scale deployment across more than 400 IKEA stores globally, which halved food waste and generated significant savings. Winnow counts major hospitality groups including Hilton, Marriott, and Compass Group among its clients, operating in over 70 countries to tackle waste in commercial food preparation.
