Where You At operates a mesh technology platform designed to maintain connectivity and improve safety at crowded events.
Where You At, a London-based mesh technology platform, has raised £2.5m in pre-seed funding to develop its indoor mapping and crowd safety tools. The round was led by Tony Mallin MBE of Star Capital, with participation from Cambridge Enterprise, Cambridge Angels, and prominent angels including Ian Cook and Carolyn Dawson.
The capital will be directed towards product development and expanding the platform, which uses a patented mesh system to offer real-time location sharing and communication without standard mobile signal. The technology also provides event organisers with anonymised footfall analytics and crowd management features.
Following successful trials at major venues and festivals, the company is positioning its software to assist operators in navigating compliance with Martyn's Law. The latest backing will support further commercial partnerships across the live events sector.
From the founder
"WYA links people with their peers and strengthens the ability to keep contact with those that you’re out with, even when they’ve wandered away and phone signal is limited. Tamzin and the team have been a dream to work with, with a modern eye for developing customer and venue safety through their stunning app"
