Operating as a charity-owned tourist attraction across 37 acres in North Wales, the organization houses more than 140 animal species.

Welsh Mountain Zoo has secured a £250k loan from the Development Bank of Wales via the Covid-19 Wales Business Loan Scheme. The financing is designed to maintain essential cash flow for animal feed and care while covering running costs during the coronavirus pandemic.

The attraction, which has remained closed since late March, faces significant monthly operating expenses of £118k alongside substantial lost ticket revenue. The new capital provides a temporary bridge while the charity continues to pursue grants and private donations.
