Warwick Acoustics has secured £7m in a Series A funding round led by Mercia Ventures. The raise included participation from NFU Mutual alongside private backers.
The capital will be directed towards establishing a new manufacturing facility and scaling production capabilities following the firm's first major automotive contract. The company produces lightweight electrostatic speakers that improve energy efficiency and cabin design flexibility in electric vehicles.
The business originated as a spin-out from Warwick University and previously developed award-winning headphone systems. It is now preparing to fulfil automotive production agreements for major vehicle programmes.
