Voxmind secures £546k in pre-seed funding led by Ascension Ventures
The London deeptech startup secured backing from Ascension Ventures to scale its voice biometrics technology.
Voxmind develops voice biometrics and deepfake detection infrastructure for enterprise security. The London-based deeptech startup relies on a physics-based engine to verify speakers and counter synthetic audio threats.
Voxmind has raised £546k in a pre-seed funding round led by Ascension Ventures. The capital injection sees participation from angel investor Russell Hart, ScreenCloud co-founder Mark McDermott, and members of the Cambridge angel network.
The investment arrives as major tech providers exit the voice biometrics space, leaving enterprises searching for alternative authentication layers amid rising deepfake threats. Voxmind plans to direct the new funds towards commercial sales, model optimisation for edge deployment, and securing ISO 27001 certification.
From the founder
"Every major enterprise that relied on cloud voice APIs is now exposed precisely as AI voice fraud accelerates. We built for this architecture before the gap existed, physics-based, on-device, deployable anywhere. Now we just need to fill it."

Investor perspective
"Voice is the last unencrypted frontier in enterprise security, and generative AI just made the stakes existential. Voxmind’s physics-based approach, on-device deployment, and existing OEM footprint give them a structural advantage that’s very difficult to replicate. Excited to lead this round and back the team as they scale."
