London-based VitVio has secured 1.63m in pre-seed funding to expand its platform capabilities and deploy its technology across partner hospitals. The round was led by LDV Capital, with participation from Bek Ventures, Tiny Supercomputer Investment Company, and angel investors.
The company uses computer vision and artificial intelligence to monitor surgical procedures, tool usage, and adherence to safety protocols in operating theatres. Its real-time analytics provide medical staff and administrators with operational insights to streamline scheduling and resource allocation.
VitVio was founded by a team with extensive experience in autonomous retail technology. The fresh capital will support the company as it finalises further partnerships with leading medical institutions across the UK, US, and Europe.
From the founder
"The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital is known as one of the UK’s leading institutions in terms of outcomes and efficiency and, naturally, they have decided to utilize our platform and leverage the cutting-edge AI technology to even further increase the efficiency of surgical procedures. By autonomously tracking surgical processes and tools, VitVio minimizes the potential for human error and adds no extra steps to the surgical process, aligning with industry experts’ consensus on the importance of non-intrusive technology."
