Virtualtrips secures £14.7m Series A funding from Northzone and other backers to expand platform features

Virtualtrips, operating as Heygo, has secured £14.7m in Series A funding to develop new features for its creator platform and community spaces. The investment round was led by Northzone, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Point 9 Capital, TQ Ventures, Ascension, the Fund, and several high profile angels including Guillaume Pousaz, Lawrence Leuschner, Bastian Lehmann, Scott Chacon, Ian Hogarth, Matt Robinson, and Richard Mabey. Michiel Kotting, Paul Murphy, and Kolja Hebenstreit have joined the board as part of the transaction.

Founded to remove physical, financial, and environmental barriers to exploration, the platform features live guides broadcasting from over 90 countries. The capital injection arrives as the service experiences rapid expansion, marked by a surge in bookings and reaching the milestone of two million total bookings across nearly 180 countries.
