Virtual Internship Partners operates a remote-first education technology platform that coordinates global internship placements for students. The company connects young people with host companies across more than 100 countries.

Virtual Internship Partners has secured £12.5m in a Series A funding round led by Hambro Perks. The capital will enable the remote work experience platform to scale its technology infrastructure as demand for digital learning accelerates globally.

Participation in the round spanned three continents, drawing backing from Sequoia India and Southeast Asia's Surge, Arsenal Growth, Kaplan, Ascend Vietnam Ventures, and STIC Investments. The funding supports the company objective to widen access to international internships for students in higher education.

Chief executive Daniel Nivern noted that the shift towards remote work requires educational models that prepare graduates for modern careers. The firm collaborates with universities and governments to match students with host organisations ranging from early-stage ventures to established enterprises.

From the founder

"We have seen a clear societal shift towards remote work, a trend that we believe will continue to accelerate at pace. We should embrace the opportunities that this presents, and platforms like Virtual Internships help students and graduates from around the world to acquire new skills that will accelerate their career growth and prepare them for the 21st-century workplace. Our mission is to bridge the gap between education and the workforce by making global remote work experience accessible to all in a digital and borderless world."
