Vinehealth secures £1m from Innovate UK to trial its cancer companion app in NHS trusts.
The funding from Innovate UK will support a randomised controlled trial across four NHS trusts.
Vinehealth operates a digital health platform that combines behavioural science and artificial intelligence to support cancer patients. The technology enables individuals to self-manage medications and symptoms while generating structured outcome data for clinical and pharmaceutical research.
Vinehealth has secured a £1m grant from Innovate UK to fund a trial of its cancer companion app across four NHS trusts. The funding will enable the company to generate evidence regarding the clinical and cost effectiveness of its patient self-management and data collection platform. The award follows previous support from organisations including NHSx and various cancer charities.
Innovate UK selected the project following a competitive process that saw 373 applications submitted for 18 available grants. Vinehealth achieved a score of 86.8 percent in the evaluation. The company intends to use the resources to deploy its technology within hospital settings and expand its clinical evaluation efforts.
