Urban secures £5.9m Series B funding via Seedrs to scale its wellness platform and target profitability.
The crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs was led by BNF Capital and closed early after tripling its initial target.
Urban operates an on-demand wellness platform providing at-home treatments such as massage, beauty, and physiotherapy through a network of independent professionals. The business serves clients across London, Paris, Manchester, and Birmingham.
Urban has secured £5.9m in a Series B crowdfunding campaign hosted on Seedrs, significantly exceeding its initial £2m target. The raise drew participation from more than 800 backers, including BNF Capital, which contributed a total of £4m across the campaign. The funding will support the company as it seeks to reach profitability by the end of 2021, expand its service offerings, and scale into new cities using a remote onboarding model.
The capital injection marks the sixth year of operations for the treatment booking platform, which adapted its strategy to capitalise on shifts in consumer behaviour during the Covid-19 pandemic. With strong demand from both customers and mobile wellness professionals, the company closed the crowdfund ahead of schedule. Management has indicated that this financing round will likely be the last required for the foreseeable future.
