London-based software company uMotif has secured £5m in a Series A funding round to support its expansion in the clinical trials sector. The investment was led by existing backer AlbionVC, with participation from DNV GL and angel investors.
The capital will be used to enhance the company platform, drive commercial growth, and enable international expansion into new study types. The funding arrives as life sciences companies increasingly adopt decentralised study designs following shifts in the healthcare sector.
The firm offers cloud-based software that allows participants to share research data from their own devices. Its technology is currently utilised across multiple countries and therapeutic areas by leading pharmaceutical developers.
