UC&C secures £250k from Northstar Ventures to scale operations
Northstar Ventures provides the capital to help the unified communications provider expand its services for small businesses.
UC&C provides cloud-based unified communications services designed for small and medium enterprises across the United Kingdom. The company partners with Unify to offer accessible enterprise-grade technology through a monthly subscription model.
Communications wholesaler UC&C has secured £250k in funding from Northstar Ventures through its Accelerator Fund. The capital will be deployed to scale up the company operations in Sunderland as it delivers cloud-based communication services to British businesses.
The firm has built a platform called OpenScape in partnership with Unify, aiming to bring complex communication technology to smaller enterprises at a lower monthly subscription rate. Management previously invested £200k of their own capital to prepare the platform for the market.
Northstar Ventures has also appointed a non-executive director, Neil Francis, to the board to support the company growth strategy. Ryecroft Glenton Corporate Finance advised UC&C on the transaction.
