TrueLayer raises £27.5m Series C investment from Tencent and Temasek to fuel international expansion

UK fintech TrueLayer has raised £27.5m in a Series C investment round backed by Tencent and Temasek. The capital will support the company as it scales operations further into Europe, with specific plans to enter France, Germany, and Italy, as well as the Asia Pacific region.
Founded in 2016, TrueLayer has built an open banking network that connects with providers like Monzo. The latest injection brings the total amount raised by the firm to $47m over three years, following prior backing from investors including Northzone, Anthemis Group, and Connect Ventures.
The transaction forms part of a broader wave of Asian investment into British financial technology, highlighting strong international interest in open banking infrastructure.
