Trint provides an automated speech-to-text platform that helps users transcribe and edit audio, video and text. The company operates offices in London and Toronto.

Trint has secured £5m in a Series A follow-on round to drive product innovation and team expansion. The funding was led by The New York Times Company, with participation from London-based Edge Investments and individual backers.

The capital arrives as the company scales its operations across its London and Toronto offices, with workforce numbers projected to reach 150 employees. The proceeds will support the development of its StoryTech software category, which helps creators manage audio, video, and text content.

This latest raise follows a £3.5m Series A extension in 2019 and brings the company's total external funding to £12m. Early backers include The Associated Press, TechNexus, and The Knight Foundation.
