The Electrospinning Company has secured £650k in funding from backers including Angels in MedCity and the LBA EIS Roundtable Syndicate Fund 2016. The business aims to use the capital to scale its manufacturing capacity and drive international expansion into European and American markets.
Operating from the Harwell Campus, the company supplies clinical-grade electrospun biomaterials intended to help regenerate and repair human tissue. The fresh financing follows recent commercial progress, which includes supplying materials for the first FDA-approved medical device incorporating such nanofibre technology.
