The Data City provides real-time data and artificial intelligence driven insights to map emerging economic sectors. Its platform replaces traditional classification methods with dynamic industry definitions for public and private sector clients.

The Data City has secured £2m in Series A funding from Oxford Economics to accelerate its international expansion and technology development. The investment nearly doubles the valuation of the Leeds-based artificial intelligence data business to £19m following a record year of growth.

The fresh capital will be directed towards enhancing global data infrastructure and supporting initial market development for a joint venture in the United States alongside Oxford Economics. The transaction builds on a period of sustained commercial momentum that included expanding headcount and securing major government and corporate clients.

Oxford Economics brings global economic forecasting expertise to the partnership, aiming to drive innovation in sector analysis and investment decision-making. The funding caps a successful recent period for the firm, which also launched the fifth version of its classification platform.
