The pre-seed round was supported by a crowdfunding campaign and angel investors.
Tala Thrive is a mental health startup offering culturally sensitive therapy, coaching, and self-guided programmes. The platform connects clients with practitioners who share their backgrounds, languages, and lived experiences.
Tala Thrive has secured £250k in pre-seed funding to expand its culturally responsive mental health services as the business relocates its operations from London to Melbourne. The raise was anchored by a crowdfunding campaign alongside contributions from several prominent angel investors.
The capital will support the company as it works to make culturally competent care less dependent on out of pocket costs through partnerships and research initiatives. The platform currently works with over 80 practitioners spanning more than 30 languages.
From the founder
"My lived experience showed me that mental-health care often lacks cultural context. At Tala Thrive, we’re building a space where people can be truly seen – not just heard. This funding isn’t just investment in a business; it’s a belief in change."
