The Series B round was led by BHL UK with participation from The Hartford and Concentric.
Superscript is a digital-first insurance provider offering bespoke and flexible coverage for small businesses and high-growth technology companies.
London-based insurtech Superscript has secured £45m in Series B funding to scale its proprietary technology and expand its international footprint. The investment round was led by existing backer BHL UK, with participation from new strategic investor The Hartford alongside returning investor Concentric.
The capital infusion will primarily support the enhancement of the company underwriter and broking capabilities, driven by machine learning, and help broaden its suite of dynamic insurance products for global distribution. Superscript has experienced significant expansion since its previous funding phase, marked by a multi-fold increase in its customer base and major commercial partnerships.
Chief executive Cameron Shearer noted that the backing reflects confidence in the company model during a challenging economic climate. Ian Leech of BHL UK and Stephanie Bush of The Hartford both highlighted the firm proprietary technology and tailored customer approach as key drivers for their continued support.
