Student Nannies has secured pre-seed investment from Apadmi Ventures to support its regional expansion. The funding will aid the platform as it launches in Manchester to help bridge local childcare shortages by employing university students for after school care and babysitting. Apadmi Ventures, the investment arm of mobile technology company Apadmi, led the round as part of its strategy to back scalable start-ups.

The expansion comes amid documented childcare deficits in the North West, where regional studies show a shortage of full time and after school care provisions. Founders note that the city's large student population offers a viable talent pool to alleviate these pressures for working parents.
