Motion capture glove manufacturer StretchSense has secured £6.9m in a Series A funding round led by Par Equity, with additional participation from GD1 and Scottish Enterprise.

The capital will be used to establish a new centre of excellence in Edinburgh dedicated to artificial intelligence and spatial computing research. StretchSense currently serves over 200 games studios worldwide and intends to expand its presence in virtual reality markets.

The investment marks a significant employment boost for the Scottish capital as the New Zealand-founded firm scales its engineering and product development operations.
