Stream secures £67m Series D funding led by Sofina for US expansion and pensions development.
The round was led by Sofina with participation from Better Society Capital and existing investors.
Stream is a workplace finance provider offering tools for workers to earn, save, budget, and plan ahead. The platform partners with employers to deliver financial wellbeing services.
Stream has secured £67m in a Series D funding round led by Sofina. The raise also drew participation from Better Society Capital, alongside existing backers such as the British Business Bank, Ascension Ventures, Balderton, Northzone, Smash Capital, and Local Globe Latitude.
The fresh capital will be directed towards accelerating pensions innovation in the UK, helping workers recover lost pension pots and build long-term financial security. Additionally, the funds will support the company's expansion into the United States through broader global partnerships and the scaling of its workplace finance platform.
The investment follows the company's recent rebrand from Wagestream to Stream, reflecting its transition into a multi-product platform. Stream currently serves four million workers across more than 2,000 brands.
Investor perspective
"Stream exemplifies how placing impact considerations at the heart of product development can drive sustainable commercial value. Its focus on tackling the 'poverty premium' not only works to improve financial resilience, but also solve critical challenges for employers. Stream's dedication to understanding and improving their products' impact on users enables greater positive outcomes and propels their strong commercial growth, and we look forward to the impact this funding will support."
