Sportside secures £15m Series A funding from Fortunis Capital to expand its sportstech platform
Fortunis Capital led the £15m phased investment round to support talent, technology and marketing ahead of the platform launch.
Sportside operates a social application designed to connect individuals for sporting activities while providing management resources for clubs and coaches.
Sportside has secured a £15m Series A investment from Fortunis Capital to support its upcoming consumer launch in autumn. The funding will arrive in phased instalments, beginning with an initial £2m, as the platform prepares to roll out its social sporting app in the UK.
The capital will be directed towards talent acquisition, technological development and marketing initiatives. Sportside aims to build a large community of players and clubs, providing tools for sporting engagement and commercial partnerships.
Fortunis Capital led the investment as part of its ongoing strategy to back sustainable, tech-driven businesses that address societal challenges. The backing follows recent investments by the firm in the fintech sector.
