Sparx secures £20m Series B funding from Oxygen House to expand educational technology reach.

Sparx builds learning technology products designed to support classroom teaching and student revision. Based in Exeter, the company uses data analytics and adaptive systems to improve educational outcomes.

Exeter-based educational technology company Sparx has secured £20m in a Series B funding round from Oxygen House. The capital follows an earlier £30m injection from the same backer, bringing total funding from the group to £50m. The firm plans to use the resources to scale its operations internationally and expand its educational reach.

Founded in 2010, Sparx produces digital learning platforms including its flagship maths tool, which combines thousands of curriculum questions with adaptive software. The business works closely with schools to trial and refine its approach, aiming to reach more than 5m learners by the end of the decade.
