Solid Solutions secures investment from LDC to accelerate growth strategy
LDC acquired a minority stake in the software reseller as previous backer BGF exited the business.
Solid Solutions is a leading reseller of 3D design software and services across the UK and Ireland. The company supports thousands of engineers and manufacturers with software tools, training, and 3D printing solutions.
Solid Solutions has secured a minority investment from mid-market private equity firm LDC to accelerate its growth strategy and facilitate an exit for existing backer BGF. The software reseller plans to use the fresh backing to expand its footprint, scale capacity, and introduce new product and service lines. The transaction sees LDC representatives join the board as non-executive directors while the incumbent management team remains at the helm.
The funding follows a period of robust organic and acquisitive expansion for the Leamington Spa-based company, which currently generates an annual turnover in excess of fifty million pounds. BGF, which initially backed the firm in 2016, supported its development across several acquisitions before fully exiting its minority stake as part of the new deal.
