SolasCure has raised £15m in a Series A funding round to advance the development of its flagship wound cleaning product, Aurase. The financing was backed by a mixture of institutional venture funds, strategic investors, and industry veterans.
The Cambridge-based company will direct the capital towards the clinical trial phases for Aurase, a hydrogel containing an enzyme cloned from medical maggots. The treatment is designed to assist healthcare professionals in managing chronic wounds effectively.
The raise included participation from existing backer BRAIN Biotech AG and new investor Seneca Partners, alongside contributions from Bionova Capital, Jonathan Milner, EVA Pharma, the Development Bank of Wales, and François Fournier.
