Smart Antenna Technologies has secured up to £1.5m in a funding round led by Mercia Technologies, which contributed £1.2m to the total. The Birmingham-based business, which originated as a spin-out from the University of Birmingham, has created a proprietary single antenna system designed to replace multiple components in smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
The capital will be directed towards further technology development as the company continues discussions with major laptop and mobile manufacturers regarding commercial partnerships.
