£234KGrant

SleepCogni is a medical technology company based in Sheffield that develops digital solutions for insomnia care. The firm combines clinical insights with advanced monitoring to improve patient outcomes.

SleepCogni has secured a £234k grant from Innovate UK through its Biomedical Catalyst scheme to support its insomnia treatment technology. The funding follows an earlier award from the agency in 2017 and will be directed towards research into optimising real-time biofeedback and artificial intelligence for sleep improvement. The project will be conducted in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University.

The capital will enable the firm to refine its wearable device, validate active-biofeedback features, and advance regulatory compliance for medical use. Researchers will collect data from eighty participants to hone the underlying algorithms and gather initial user feedback.

From the founder

"It is great to again receive funding from Innovate UK for a key part of our Research and Development. In addition, the recognition we received by Innovate UK and by the independent experts that assessed our application, strengthens our resolve to materialise our vision for a solution to insomnia through our technology. This award comes at a great time, as we are looking to raise new investment for the next phase of our business, preparing for commercialising."
