Signals provides research integrity tools for academic publishers to evaluate manuscripts and protect editorial quality. The platform combines network analysis, expert knowledge, and artificial intelligence to assess research trust.

Signals has completed its first funding round with backing from a group of angel investors, including Ann Michael. The capital will support the company as it prepares to launch the Signals Data Graph and expand its offerings for publishers.

The freshly secured funds will aid Signals in delivering new capabilities designed to address research integrity challenges. The start-up plans to collaborate closely with publishers, academic institutions, and research sleuths to build comprehensive integrity solutions.

Founding investors Andrew Preston, Ben Kaube, and Paul Peters of Scholarly Angels also participated, alongside industry figures such as Daniel Johnston and Sven Fund. The round follows growing demand for robust mechanisms to evaluate and verify research articles.
