The funding round was backed by Dragons' Den investors Sara Davies and Deborah Meaden to support financial inclusion.
Sibstar provides a specialised debit card and mobile application that allows people living with dementia and their families to securely manage everyday spending.
Southampton-based fintech enterprise Sibstar has secured £125k in funding from high-profile investors Sara Davies and Deborah Meaden following an appearance on television programme Dragons' Den. The capital will be directed towards driving further financial inclusion and equality for families affected by dementia.
The company was established after founder Jayne Sibley cared for her parents, who both lived with the condition, observing firsthand the difficulties families face in managing finances securely. Since its launch in March 2023, the platform has gained traction by offering customizable spending controls and account management via a mobile application.
The recent injection of funds and strategic backing from Davies and Meaden is expected to support the brand as it expands its reach and continues to make financial services more accessible to underserved groups across the country.
From the founder
"Going into the Dragons’ Den was a hugely emotional experience. I founded the business after experiencing my own parents’ struggles with money as their cognitive abilities declined. I had to open up about some very difficult times, but the Dragons were very supportive and empathetic."

Investor perspective
"Jayne’s idea is so simple, but has the ability to transform lives. I was impressed by how she’d taken her own lived experience and channeled it into making an impressive financial services product that’s already secured a foothold in a sector in which it’s notoriously difficult to achieve cut-through. I’m looking forward to being involved in the next stage of Sibstar’s exciting journey. Sibstar is the best kind of investment, one that has the an important reason to be and makes a big difference to people’s lives."
