Fuel Ventures led the Series A financing for the on-demand removals platform.

£2.5MSeries A

Shift operates an on-demand removals marketplace connecting consumers and businesses with a nationwide network of drivers. The platform uses real-time algorithms to match jobs with available drivers for flexible scheduling.

Shift has raised £2.5m in a Series A funding round led by Fuel Ventures, with additional participation from angel investors. The capital will be used to strengthen operations, increase brand awareness, and expand the team.

Founded in 2018 by Jacob Corlett, the company operates an online platform that coordinates self-employed drivers to handle bespoke removals for consumers and businesses. The business has previously achieved an annual turnover of £1.7m and built a network exceeding 4,000 drivers across the UK.

Fuel Ventures contributed £1.3m of the total round, following a recent £20m raise for its third fund. The remaining £1.2m came from other backers and angels.

From the founder

"My first company was a 'man and van' removals service. I started the business when I was just 17 years old and built it from the ground up, but as disruptive apps and companies like Uber, Airbnb and Deliveroo began to gain popularity, I saw that my customers' expectations were changing. I decided to apply the same business model to the removals market, and that's where Shift started."
