£47.0MSeries B

Sharegain operates a capital markets infrastructure platform providing securities lending as a service to financial institutions. The company enables brokers, banks and asset managers to generate additional revenue from client assets.

Sharegain has secured £47m in a Series B funding round led by WestCap, with participation from Citi, EJF Capital and Optiver PSI. Existing backers Maverick Ventures Israel, Blumberg Capital, SixThirty, Rhodium and the Kessler family office also participated in the raise.

The capital will be deployed to accelerate global growth, scale operations and expand the company product offering. This investment marks the largest Series B to date within the securities lending sector.

The firm provides digital infrastructure that allows online brokers, private banks and wealth custodians to offer securities lending services.

From the founder

"We believe that lending your stocks, bonds and ETFs is a basic ownership right that should be made available to all. As private investor participation increases in capital markets, we are leveling the playing field so that private investors, through their brokers and banks, can benefit from income generating solutions that have been largely restricted to big financial institutions. We are humbled by this vote of confidence from such a strong group of investors. This partnership enables us to accelerate our global growth plans and scale, expand our offering faster and realize our vision of opening up securities lending to every investor worldwide."
