Senzo Health secures £1.4m investment for diagnostic technology
Senzo Health has secured £1.4m in funding to further develop its Amplified Lateral Flow diagnostic technology.
Senzo Health is a life sciences company developing high-accuracy, low-cost diagnostic technologies for home and point-of-care settings. Its platform aims to deliver laboratory-grade performance through rapid testing formats.
Senzo Health has secured £1.4m in additional funding to advance its Amplified Lateral Flow test technology. The capital will support the ongoing development and commercialisation of diagnostics intended to match the sensitivity of laboratory PCR tests while remaining affordable and rapid for at-home use. Independent validation studies with academic institutions have demonstrated high concordance with standard laboratory methods.
The company is targeting a broad spectrum of medical applications, ranging from respiratory viruses to infectious diseases and veterinary uses. By improving detection limits without raising false-positive rates, Senzo seeks to address diagnostic bottlenecks that currently delay treatment.
From the founder
"When a PCR test is able to pick something up early, we’re able to pick it up. Our limit of detection is somewhere between 1,000 and 10,000 times better than current lateral flow tests, much closer to PCR levels. What the market doesn’t need is another test that is just a screen on the front end … what we need are tests that are tests of record that can be acted on. That requires performance that is at the level of current central lab PCR tests,"
