Scalpel secures Pre-Series A funding from Henley Business Angels

Henley Business Angels backs healthcare technology firm Scalpel in its latest funding round.

Scalpel provides sensor-driven event detection technology to automate surgical protocols and streamline hospital operations.

Scalpel has secured Pre-Series A funding from Henley Business Angels members to support its next phase of growth. The company automates surgical protocols in operating rooms using sensor-driven event detection and AI platforms, helping hospitals reduce inefficiencies and improve patient safety.

The newly secured capital will be directed towards deploying the technology across several new sites. Additionally, Scalpel intends to increase data collection and model training, as well as launch multi-site clinical trials to expand its research and development efforts.

The business already generates revenue through one-off installations and monthly software subscriptions, having agreed deals with multiple NHS Hospital Trusts.
